Jason Husted Obituary
Jason J. Husted, age 54, of Hibbing, Minn., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, Minn., of natural causes.
He was born on December 21, 1970, in Hibbing, Minn., to James and Barbara (Spanko) Husted.
Jason grew up in Hibbing and graduated from HHS with the class of 1989. He worked at United Taconite in Eveleth for many years, earning his Millwright Degree and becoming a supervisor. Jason had a passion for vintage snowmobiles and for many years was the coordinator for the Vintage Snowmobile Ride for Disabled American Veterans. He was an active member of the Hibbing Raceway for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his Palmers Tavern crew and being with his family and friends. Jason was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, and will be greatly missed.
Jason is survived by his mom, Barb Husted; siblings, Rick (Tammy) Tahija, Lori (Jeff) Givan, Jimmy (Marcia) Twa, and Holly (Kevin) Moon; aunt, Maria (Jim) Hendrickson; uncle, Jeff (Becky) Husted; nieces and nephews, Chris (Katy) Potter, Jake (Rachel) Potter, Nick Tahija, and Tanya (Eric) Draves; grand-nephew, Reese potter; grand-nieces, Piper Potter, Holly Potter, and another grand-niece (Draves) on the way; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, James Husted; grandparents, Harold and Josephine Husted, and Leo and Alice Spanko; sister, Tara Husted; and aunt, Beverly Spanko.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing, Minn. A private interment will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minn.
Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, Minn.
