Jason Salazar Salgado, born on April 23, 1985, in the beautiful city of Naples, Italy, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2026, at the age of 40 in
Norfolk, Virginia. A man of warmth and spirit, Jason left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jason was a vibrant soul, known for his playful nature and generous heart. He was a friend to many and a stranger to none, always ready with a smile and a story.
His love for life was infectious, and his friendly demeanor made him a cherished companion to all. Whether he was driving around town, online gaming, or gathered with friends finding the perfect place to eat (ideally with steak), Jason lived every moment to the fullest.
Above all else, Jason adored his two beautiful daughters, Skye Lynn and Luna Aida. They were the light of his life, and he was a devoted father who found immense joy in their laughter and accomplishments. His strength was evident in his unwavering commitment to his family, and his role as a father was one he treasured deeply.
Jason found joy in the simple pleasures of life, having been an avid fisherman and a great conversationalist, always able to engage others with his stories and infectious laughter. His love for cooking, especially when preparing meals for those he loved, was yet another expression of his caring nature.
He grew up in Virginia Beach, where he attended Woodstock Elementary, Kempsville Middle School, and Kempsville High School, forming bonds and memories that lasted a lifetime.
Jason is survived by his loving parents, Jesus and Aida; his brothers, James (Nicole) and Michael; his cherished nephews and niece, Ethan, Maddox, and Miles; and his two adored daughters, Skye Lynn and Luna Aida. His family and friends will forever hold him in their hearts, cherishing the laughter and love he brought into their lives.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 6-9 pm at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations Chapel, 5401 Indian River Rd.,
Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be held the next day at 10am on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5343 Virginia Beach Blvd.,
Virginia Beach, VA 23462, with burial to immediately follow at Colonial Grove Memorial Park, 3445 Princess Anne Rd.,

Jason's legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his mother who loves him profoundly and misses him dearly.
