Jathiah (Jay) Stanley Dean Clark passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his devoted family on September 18, 2024, after a 15-month battle of advanced cancer. He was born April 6, 1956, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, to Frank & Dorothy Clark. He spent the majority of his life in Door County.
He married his school crush and love of his life, Patricia (Patty) Mae Kerscher, on August 28, 1982. They shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. Jay and Patty were blessed with two children: Tiffany (1984) and Ashley (1990). He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who demonstrated love for them at every opportunity.
The center of Jay's life was his God, Jehovah. He symbolized his dedication by baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 29, 1977. He was passionate about understanding Bible prophecy and using scriptures to comfort and support others as a congregation elder for many years.
By trade, Jay, was an accomplished and detailed carpenter. He loved woodworking and building things in his workshop. He trained his daughters and their husbands in remodeling projects. He was also passionate about making all of Patty's visions come true.
He enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, camping, and canoeing/ kayaking. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making silly faces and tickling his grandkids. He was the go to computer tech for many. His hobbies included growing bonsai and designing games. He was a great listener, patient teacher and articulate writer.
He is survived by his wife, Patty; two children: Tiffany (Scott) Alexander, and Ashley (Daniel) Rodriguez; and grandchildren: Olivia Alexander, Ellie Alexander, Perla Rodriguez, and Ezekiel Rodriguez. Jay is further survived by his siblings: Judy (Warren) Phillips, Darrel (Tammy) Clark, and Laurie (Danny) Giombi; brother-in-law, David (Beth) Kerscher; sisters-in-law: Judy Sargent, and Faye (Ben) St. Onge; and his nephew, Michael (Cinnamon) Phillips, who helped care for him in the end; as well as many other nieces and nephews, friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Dorothy Clark; step mom, Myrtle Clark; parents-in-law, Leonard & Pearl Kerscher; and brother-in-law, Steve Sargent.
Jay's favorite scripture was 2 Corinthians 4:16-18: "We do not give up, but even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed from day to day. For though the tribulation is momentary and light, it works out for us a glory that is of more surpassing greatness and is everlasting, while we keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting." This scripture was especially applicable in the last year of his life as he battled cancer. We share his faith that we will see him again in the new world.
A special thank you to Compassus hospice nurses for their loving care.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024. Visitation will be at 1pm followed by a talk at 2pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 1209 W. Winneconne Ave, Neenah, WI 54956.
