Javier Mendoza Obituary
It is of great sadness that we announce that Javier Eduardo Mendoza passed away on Sunday October 27, 2024, after a tragic motor vehicle accident in the Mecklenburg County at the age of 64 years old.
Javier leaves behind his beloved wife Maria Eugenia Alvarez, children Jordy and Nathalie Mendoza with grandchildren Isabella, Cataleya and Ayenday, sisters Marybell Mendoza and Monica Mendoza, brother Joselo Mendoza.
He was preceded by his parents Jose Eduardo Mendoza Cedeño, Acacia Amacilia Guevara Loor, and his sister Maria Lucia Mendoza.
He was born and raised in Portoviejo, Ecuador where he then migrated to New York in his early twenty's and later in life to Statesville, NC.
Javier was a huge music enthusiast, especially salsa and boleros, a talented point shooter, hunter, and basketball player. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Universidad Tecnica de Manabi. He leaves behind a great number of friends, family and the local Ecuadorian community who loved him very much.
A special thank you to his lifelong friends Grecia and Pierina who have supported his family throughout this difficult time.
A service will be held Saturday November 2nd at 4pm at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville, NC.
