Javier H. Santillan, age 53, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 in Lea County, New Mexico. He was born on May 1, 1971 in Chihuahua City, MX to Inocente and Guadalupe (Herrera) Santillan. Javier married Delores A Nunez on June 3, 2024 in Jal, NM.
Javier was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. He enjoyed horseback riding, ranching, and roping. He spent his free time being a carpenter, mechanic, welder and a handyman. Javier was a cowboy and a bit of a horse whisperer. He taught his kids how to rodeo and was a family man who loved spending time with his wife and kids teaching them life lessons. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Inocente and Guadalupe Santillan.
Javier is survived by his wife: Delores Nunez of Jal, NM; sons: Javier Santillan Jr. of Jal, NM and Francisco Javier Gomez of Odessa, TX; daughters: Delisa Nunez and husband Gerardo Villalobos and Estrella Santillan, all of Jal, NM; brothers: Edmundo Santillan and wife Dora of Odessa, TX, Arnoldo Santillan and wife Carmin Miranda of Balmorhea, TX, Ignacio Santillan and wife Myrta and Inocent Santillan and wife Marisela Garcia, all of Monahans, TX, Gregorio Santillan and wife Margaret and Alfredo Santillan and wife Sulema, all of Coyame, MX; and sisters: Irma Avila and husband Manuel and Lorena Sanchez and husband Jesus, all of Albuquerque, NM.
Rosary will be 7 pm CST Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, TX. Mass will be held at 11:00 am MST, on Friday, November 22, 2024 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal, NM. Pallbearers are Jesus Santillan, Ivan Rodriguez, Gerardo Villalobos, Alfonso Santillan, Luis Navarrete, and Eduardo Arroyo Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers are Timothy Santillan, Frankie Santillan, Ignacio Santillan Jr., Gregory Santillan, and Arnold Santillan Jr.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family at www.fs-fp.com.
