Javion Mack Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved child, Javion Shikiem Mack "Poodie", age 13, who departed us on July 31, 2025, in Lynchburg, VA.
Javion was born on May 6, 2012, to his birth mother, Shinae Johnson. Poodie was raised by his maternal grandparents, Antonio Johnson and Terry Johnson, as their son, and provided him with 13 amazing years of life.
Javion attended Laurel Regional School where he completed the 7th grade. Poodie was cherished for his contagious laugh and a smile that would brighten any room. Javion found joy in family gatherings and spending quality time with his siblings. Despite his disabilities, Javion was included in all family activities. He enjoyed traveling and was able to visit many beaches, zoos, Pigeon Forge, TN, Disney, and Great Wolf Lodge to name a few places. Javion would give you the side eye when it was time for his quiet time. During his quiet time, he enjoyed watching tv and Family Feud was his favorite show.
Javion was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather, Percy Johnson Sr. and uncle, Percy Johnson Jr.
Javion is survived by his maternal grandmother, Mahalia Mack; great grandparents, Nancy Mack, Walter White, Antoinette Hatten, Garry and Ella Stone; siblings, Jahiem Johnson, Jaela Stone, James Coles Jr., and Malachi Shaw; his devoted caregiver and aunt, Linda Stone; his god-mother, Chris’Sheyona West; his aunts, Erica Jones, Adelaide Stone, Shykira Payne, Shi-Vai Mack-Cooke, Alisha Simms, Angie Stone, Jasmine Stone, Treazure Taylor, Marlo Johnson, Dominique Coles, and Mahogany Mack; his uncles, Shyhiem Payne, Shi-ke Taylor, Shylique Taylor, and Garry Stone; along with a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to thank the Carilion and UVA medical team along with extending a special thank you to Dr. V. Permashwar.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A homegoing service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
The family is accepting donations to assist with funeral services by contacting Tharp Funeral Home directly at 434-237-9424 during our business hours of 8 AM - 5 PM.
