JAY ALAN HISSOM

Jay Alan Hissom, age 64 of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, 9/9/2025.

Born in Salem, Ohio, on August 30th, 1961, to the late Robert C. and Laura J. (Bailie) Hissom. Jay was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his sons at all the local courses. Jay was also a Cleveland sports fan along with Ohio State. Jay loved to travel and go to the beach and create precious memories with his family. A family man, Jay enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandson, baby Jayden. Jay recently retired as a store manager following decades of dedicated service at The Home Depot.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bob Hissom, and a sister-in-law, Jill (Diamond) Hissom.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Kathy Hissom, three children, Ashley (Chris) Vidika of Olmsted Twp, OH, Tyler (Fiancée, Courtney Markiewitz) Hissom of Lorain, OH, and Travis Hissom of Chippewa Lake, OH; a grandson, Jayden Vidika and expecting a granddaughter Vidika due in February of 2026; a brother, Mark Hissom of Salem, OH, two sisters, Kimberly Rosta of Salem, OH, and Renee Hissom of Salem, OH; a host of nieces and nephews also surviving.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, 9/15/25, from 4-6 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home Medina chapel. There will be no services.
