 Jay P. Hulser, 64, of Kalona, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital following a sudden illness. He has been cremated and no services are planned. Memorial donations may be directed to the University of Iowa Hospital and sent to the Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home, PO Box 81, Kalona, IA 52247.

Jay Patrick Hulser was born March 11, 1960, in Cherokee, Iowa, the son of James Otis and Patricia Dawn (Endersbe) Hulser. He graduated from Sutherland Community School in 1978 with an Associate of Arts in Hotel and Motel Management. He was married to Jeanne Slaubaugh and to that union two daughters were born: Jenna and Jasmin. The couple later divorced. Jay was a materials analyst at R.R. Donnelly for the last 36 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Rider’s Group, Iowa City, #695. Jay enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle, collecting antiques, grilling, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, especially sunsets. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include two daughters: Jenna (Lance) Lisk of Tiffin, Jasmin (Matt) Evans of Tiffin, granddaughter Elin Lisk and step-granddaughter Rebecca Cole. Also surviving are two sisters: Jil Kellen of Ft. Walton, FL, and Jana White of Sioux Rapids, IA, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jay in death were his parents and Jeanne Hulser.
