We remember Jay, laughing, singing, being a joyful presence to us in Sounds of Joy, especially the concerts he arranged for Hearts and Home. May we always remember what he gave in love and music.

I am the luckiest daughter to have
had Jay Lazier as my father for 52 years in the flesh and for a few days in spirit. My Dad genuinely had compassion for others. He was one of the warmest, most nurturing people I´ve ever known. He was fun loving and absolutely adored his grandchildren, Sammy and Elani. His eternal spirit will live on in his children and grandchildren. I will not go one day without honoring my father´s spirit in some way.
I love you, Dad, more than I can express in words. You´ve had a tremendous impact on my life ,and for that I will always be grateful. I know that your spirit is eternal. I am sure about that. Rest in peace , my Dear Dad. You lived an amazing fulfilling life. I will miss seeing your soulful face. But, I am comforted knowing God is with you now and that you are in the most serene place

Saddened to hear of Jay's passing. I met Jay in 1994 when I came to work at the City of VB. He always had compassion for the individuals and staff we worked with. He was a tireless champion for persons in the community living with mental and physical disabilities to allow them to become a part of the fabric of their neighborhoods. Jay will certainly be missed.

May Jay´s memory be a blessing, and may the kindness and compassion he showed in life continue to inspire and comfort the Lazier family and all who mourn him.

A loving kindness that connected us to Home and Community. Our hearts a filled with great Love and Appreciation for Nancy and the Lazier family. I am so very sorry to hear of Jay's passing. May God bring you comfort and peace.

My deepest condolences. I worked with Jay for many years. He was the kindest man. I remember he would visit a program and knew the names of all the participants. The Virginia Beach Developmental Services program exists because he and a few others cared for the people. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing.

Jay´s memory is a blessing. Our love for Nancy is source of strength and admiration and hope for all who were ever in contact with her.
