Jay Loucks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home - West Union on Mar. 31, 2026.
Justin Jay Loucks, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at his home in Lake Waynoka, OH after

battling a brain tumor for over twelve years. Jay was born on May 31, 1963, in Biloxi,

MS and grew up in various states due to his dad being a career U.S. Air Force officer.

Recognized for his sports knowledge and devotion to the Minnesota Twins and Texas

A&M Aggies, Jay was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Jay was proud to carry the Aggie spirit and graduated from Texas A&M University with a

degree in Civil Engineering. Jay worked for the city of Dallas for several years, leading

the fire prevention program. Jay became the city expert regarding fire prevention

design and eventually left the job with the city to become an entrepreneur, creating

Green Tag Engineering.

Jay was an avid sports fan, but baseball was at the top of the list with the Minnesota

Twins being the ultimate franchise. Some of Jay's best moments were becoming a

father, marrying Kim, and watching the Twins win the World Series in 1987 and 1991.

Traveling and spending time with friends was also a joy. Identifying, sampling, and

rating the best barbeque restaurants across Texas became an annual event. Many

family conversations involved Jay's travels or being at some sporting event.

Jay is survived by his wife Kim, son Gavin, mother Margaret, siblings Vince, Stacy, and

Nikki, stepchildren Darren, Kevin, and Mark, and step grandchildren Eleanor, Tommy,

Breck and Briar. Jay was active in supporting Head for the Cure Foundation, an

organization that builds awareness and ignites hope for the brain tumor community.

In memory of Jay, donations can be made to Head for the Cure Foundation;
