Jay D. Patchin, age 94, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025 at Norman Veteran's Care Center in Norman, Oklahoma.

He was born January 30, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a son of the late Doyle and Gertrude Patchin.

Jay served his country, stateside in the United States Army during the Korean War. Shortly after discharge, he married his wife of 59 years, Mildred Crabtree. He attended college on the GI Bill and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business. He worked as an insurance salesman for American National Insurance Company, becoming a District Manager of their office in Joplin, Missouri.

Jay loved music, he sang in church choirs and played guitar for his family, entertaining kids, grandkids, and great grandkids with funny songs. He and his wife, Millie, were dance partners, enjoying square dancing and ballroom dancing for many years.

Jay was preceded in death, by his wife, Mildred, and beloved daughter, Christi Gayle.

He is survived by his daughter Deborah Buchanan, and son, Doyle Frank Patchin, and 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. All of these were his delight to love.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held, Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 10:30am at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church, located at 2243 W State Hwy 152, Mustang, OK.
