Jay L. Raup, Sr., 84, of Limestone Twp., Montour Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025 at his home.

Born September 27, 1940 in rural Turbotville, he was a son of the late Godfrey Raup and Helen (O'Conner) Phillips. On February 14, 1959 he married the former Dorothy J. Beachel and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Jay previously worked at Jasper Corp. in Watsontown; later working at E&G Acres Farm for over 47 years. He enjoyed baseball, in his younger years played in local leagues and also enjoyed a good ride on his motorcycle. Jay always preferred to be busy often mowing his grass, gardening and landscaping the property. He also loved wood working/crafting, building many pieces of furniture.

Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Jay loved all the time he could spend with his entire family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his son: Jay Raup Jr. and his wife Julie; three daughters: Debora Herb and her husband Steve, Darlene Markiewicz and her husband Stephen, and Tammy Green and her husband Eric; six grandchildren: Zachary, Katie, Amanda, Robin, Lane, and Simone; six great-grandchildren; one brother: Ronald Raup; and two sisters: Jean Hurst and Mary Reimensnyder.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Megan C. Raup; step-father: Clifford Phillips; three brothers: Paul, Ben, and Dean Raup; and two sisters: Carol Buck and Bonnie Sones.

Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
