Jay Swartz of Sharon, MA, formerly of Randolph, MA, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with dementia on October 14, 2025 at the age of 84.

Jay was the cherished husband of Marilyn (Stevens) Swartz for over 60 years. Loving and devoted father of Debbie Podesta and her husband, Bob, Julie Savoie, and Shana Swartz. Beloved grandfather of Jonathan, Jessica, Jake, and his grand-dog, Lola. He was the caring son of the late Emma (Wolf) and David Swartz.

He was a hard worker and had a long career in the insurance industry in addition to real estate investing and management. Jay cherished time with his family and loved boating, fishing, accomplishing home improvement projects, and was a huge car enthusiast. He had a love for music which brought him much joy and comfort.

Jay navigated the world with gentle strength and humility, demonstrating that true greatness lies in treating others with kindness. He will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones.

Funeral will be held at Schlossberg Family's Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton on Sunday, October 19th at 11AM. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA at 350 S. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130 or mspca.org .

Shiva details will be announced at the funeral.
