What a shock to see Jay´s obituary displayed at our high school class of 1979 reunion last month. I knew Jay pretty well when we moved into the neighborhood prior to starting seventh grade. We were the same age. We lived behind each other`s house and we were in the same LDS Ward and scout troop and basketball team and went to the same college after high school and we were roommates the first semester CEU in Price, Utah.
We must´ve played hundreds of games of ping-pong and listened to hours of 1970s rock `n´ roll and played basketball every weekend for six years.
After our first year at college we both went on Lds missions and essentially went our own separate ways until sometime ago after his last sibling died. I came across him online and we had a few email exchanges to reconnect and he explained to me about his immune system issues.
Jay had a lot of friends when we were growing up and he is surely missed.

Although I don't know him, I heard so much about Karel, and the wonderful person she was. I was never fortunate to meet her or Jay, but I am so happy to read of his legacy that he left for his family. I pray for all of his family that is left behind and wish them all the very best in life. May God bless you always, and know that you will see this wonderful man again. God bless you all.

I didn't know Jay, yet after reading about him, it sounds like he was a wonderful person.

My heart goes out to his family at this time.
