Jay D. Voigt, a dedicated son, loving brother, and devoted uncle, passed away suddenly on November 9, 2025, in his lifelong home of Houston, Texas, at the age of 48.

Born on January 13, 1977, Jay was the son of Margo Luhrs and the late Tomie D. Voigt. He shared a strong bond with his family and deeply appreciated his stepfather, Robert Luhrs.

A proud Texan, Jay was rooted in the Houston community. He pursued higher education at the University of Houston-Downtown, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2007, focusing his studies on Finance and Economics. This foundation led him to a successful and impactful professional career in the banking regulatory industry, where he spent nearly 15 years with the Texas Department of Banking as a Financial Examiner, and most proudly, in the last 18 months as Stellar Bank's Executive Vice President, Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs and Loan Review.

Jay will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family. He spent every Thanksgiving with his mother and stepfather in CO, and every Christmas with his brother Andy's family in N. CA. He referred to his wide circle of friends as his village, and they meant as much to him as he did to them.

He leaves behind his mother, Margo Luhrs, and stepfather, Robert Luhrs, of Evergreen, CO. He was a cherished brother to Andy Voigt and his wife, Kala. Jay was a beloved uncle to Aidan, Jonah, and Ellah Voigt, and to Otto Weirich. He is also survived by his stepbrothers, Mark and Scott Luhrs, and countless cousins and relations in East Texas.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Tomie D. Voigt.

Though his life was unexpectedly shortened, Jay's impact on those who knew him was profound. He will be deeply missed by his extensive family and friends.
