With heavy hearts, we announce that Jayden Xavier Stephenson, our sweet beloved son, cherished younger brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and the best of friends to many, left this world on January 9, 2025 to join the loving embrace of God in Heaven. He was born in Savannah, Georgia and moved to El Paso, Texas at three years old, when his dad was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that he is no longer battling cancer, and experiencing the eternal joy of heaven. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Jayden was a brilliant and creative young man, mature beyond his years. He inspired everyone who knew him through his courage and determination. Throughout his journey with cancer, he met many great medical healthcare professionals who fell in love with the great young man that he was.

Over the last several years, Jayden became fond of Muay Thai and MMA fighting. He devoted his time to training at the dojo and preparing for fights. Throughout his journey with cancer, he continued to work out hard and never gave up. He continued his academics, achieving the highest grades, and never gave up his quest for higher learning. While continuing his rehab and cancer treatments, he continued to pursue his academics in AP Calculus, Science and English. He enjoyed meeting with his teachers and the challenges that came with his coursework. He aspired one day to become a psychiatrist to understand the mind and help others. Jayden enjoyed spending his time with family and friends, loved watching anime and traveling. He overcame some of his fears over the last few years by skiing on tougher slopes in Breckenridge, surfing the waves in Hawaii, parasailing, shooting rifles and riding the many rollercoasters at Cedar Point.

Jayden will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His infectious smile and happiness lit up the room from the time he was baby. He was a young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was the person you would want by your side if you ever needed a good laugh or a helping hand to navigate life challenges.

Jayden is survived by his loving parents, Nadia and Clive Stephenson; his loving brother, Jamal Stephenson; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory. A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Eulogy Service at 6:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 5005 Love Rd., with Dr. Eduardo Rivera officiating.

Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, NM.
