Jayford Dowless Obituary
Jayford was born in Bladen County August 10, 1935. He was the youngest of 11 children of Robie and Annie Belle Dowless.
Mr. Dowless is preceded in death by his parents, Robie and Annie Belle Dowless; his brothers, Henry, Robert, and Leroy Dowless; his sisters; Mary Jane Hester, Margaret Hester, Irene Carter, McCree Carroll, and Isabel Kinlaw.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce "Nanny" Dowless of the home; three sons, Garry M. Dowless of Seymour, Texas, Danny J. Dowless and Gregory N. Dowless of Dublin, NC; one daughter Kimberly J. Williamson of Dublin, NC; one brother Aaron Dowless of Hampton, VA; one sister Ella Mae Harris of Hope Mills; 15 grandchildren Garry M. Dowless, Jr., Donnie Williamson, Danielle Dowless, Stephanie Williamson, Colt Dowless, Preston Dowless, Amanda Dowless, Jake Dowless, Brittany Dowless, Clint Dowless, Luke Dowless, Aaron and Austin Howd, and Chad and Cody Machen; and one great-grandchild, Cameron Davis.
The visitation will be held Friday, March 30, 2007 from 6: 00 pm until 8:00 pm at Bladen Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin, NC with Reverend Phillip McLean officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery in Dublin, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center, attention Darcy Law at 1-800-733-1476.
