Her hobbies were cooking, baking, bingo, pitty pat, word search and sewing. She was married to Clarence E. Black Sr., on November 28, 1968, in Kansas City, MO. They were happily married for 57 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bettie McNeal, father, Leo Phillips, husband, (Clarence E. Black Sr., daughters, Carol A. Moses and Sherrie L. Black, siblings Shirley Ferrell, Leroy Phillips, and Pierre Phillips Sr., grandson, John B. Black and special cousin, Karen Farmer.
She is survived by her children, Jean M. Hack, Yolanda Y. Jackson (Kaseem) and Clarence E. Black Jr. (Sonya), siblings,Beatrice Hickman, Vernetta Smith, and Palita Robinson (Aron), grandchildren,Tarron (Michelle), Nicole, Clayton, Cree (Nate), Keara, Xavier, Briana and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, 10:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation from 9:00am-10:00am at the chapel. Arrangement entrusted Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Mrs. Jean, please visit our floral store.

My deepest sympathy. Jean was a special lady. I enjoyed working with her every day in therapy; she always made my day and made me smile.
