Jean Brooks Obituary

BROOKS (Dennison), Jean

Jean Dennison Brooks was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 4, 1919 and died February 6, 2025. She was the daughter of Hubert E. Dennison and Lucile McDade Dennison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene E. Brooks; her son, William "Bill" E. Brooks; her sisters, Dianne "D.D." Dennison, and Lucile Dennison Keenan; and her brother, Dr. David B. Dennison. She is survived by her sons, Eugene D. Brooks (Becky), and Robert (Bob) B. Brooks (Robin); grandchildren, Matthew D. Brooks (Alicia), Emily Brooks, Susan B. Justwan (Florian), Jennifer D. Brooks, William D. Brooks (Heather), Todd D. Brooks (Emily); great-grandchildren, Preston Brooks, Kellan Brooks, Luke Brooks, Isabel Justwan, Freya Justwan; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean graduated from Atlanta Girls High School and Agnes Scott College and received her Masters degree from Emory University in Pathology and Bacteriology. She was a certified medical technician and employed by the Pathology Department of Emory University and the Good Samaritan Clinic of Atlanta, until she retired to take care of her family. A lifelong Episcopalian, she was a member of Christ Church Episcopal, Norcross.

There will be a private family burial service at Decatur Cemetery.
