Jean Faye Brown Pope, 90, of Wilson passed away Monday, November 3, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Pastor Wayne Whitley will officiate.
Jean was an excellent athlete; she played college basketball at Louisburg on a scholarship from high school. She was an avid fan of Duke Basketball. Jean had a long career with Farm Credit Association. Jean lived a long and happy life; she was dearly loved and will be greatly missed and thought of with loving memories.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathy Pope Gallant and husband, Rich of Arlington Heights, Illinois; son, Brent Pope and wife, Sherry of Midlothian, Virginia; Loving sister Jackie Dale of Wilson; granddaughters, Mary-Marshall Gallant Kunichi and husband, Dave of Arlington Heights, Illinois and Katie Pope Andrews and husband, Derek of Wilson; great grandchildren, Talon, River Grace, Ainsley, and Dawson and her loving fur baby, Marigold.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Marshall Barnes Pope; parents, Artis and Zela Brown; sister, Elsie Collier and her grandson, Andrew Richard Gallant.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the amazing loving care and compassion she received in her last years at Spring Arbor of Wilson; and to her sister Jackie, who provided the extra love that only a sister can give.
