Jean M. Buschor, 91, of Waterville, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at her home. She was born on September 25, 1933, in Utica, a daughter of the late John D. and Nellie (Roberts) Williams. She was a graduate of Waterville High School and a 1954 graduate of Faxton School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse (RN). On November 1, 1954, Jean married John A. Buschor. He predeceased her on February 17, 1995.
Jean had worked as a nurse at Harding Nursing Home, Waterville, Community Memorial Hospital, Hamiton, as well as helping her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Waterville United Methodist Church, the Sangerfield American Legion Auxiliary, where she tended bar following her nursing career, she was a Faxton School of Nursing Alumni and a participate of the Harvard Health Study for Nurses. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and most of all, her family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Charles and Sheila Buschor, of Waterville, a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Steven Perog, of Delanson, her grandchildren; Justin Perog and Johnathon Perog (Casey Leveillee), all of Delanson, Chrisine (Leroy) Hodge, of Madison, Charles Buschor, Jr. and Joseph Buschor, both of Waterville, Robert Buschor, of Deansboro, Andrea Buschor (Sean Furness), of Oriskany Falls, Michael Buschor (Sondra Quackenbush) of Georgetown, great-grandchildren; Sean (Freddie) Furness, Jr. and Jane Furness.
She was predeceased by two sons, Robert Buschor and John "Jack" Buschor, a granddaughter, Katherine Perog and daughter-in-law MaryLou Buschor.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY 13460.
Jean will be honored by the Nurse's Honor Guard.
Interment in the St. Bernard's Cemetery will follow.
Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home from 1pm to 3pm, prior to the service.
