90, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Carello (Ret. Major, C.P.D.). Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Gentile) Rossi.
Jean is survived by her daughters Gina E. Fallon and her husband Joseph of Middlesex, NJ, and Elana M Leanna and her husband Robert of Cranston. She was the cherished grandmother of Emma and Ava Rabiner. Jean was predeceased by her brother Robert T. Rossi.
She was a devoted bookkeeper for Elliot Automotive and later for Pakula Jewelers, where her dedication and professionalism left a lasting impression.
A cherished member of her community, Jean was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Cranston, where she participated actively in parish life. She had deep faith that guided her through her life and was reflected in her connections with others.
Jean’s life was marked by her commitment to family and friends. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones and was known for hosting delightful holiday gatherings that brought everyone together. Her love for dinner with friends and outings to the theater added to the warmth she shared with those around her. In her younger years, Jean was an avid tennis player, showcasing a spirit of competitiveness and enthusiasm that remained throughout her life.
Beyond her hobbies, Jean was a loving homemaker and a dedicated caretaker for many family members, a role she fulfilled with grace and compassion. Her nurturing presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 20th, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the RI SPCA, https://web.charityengine.net/donateRISPCA.
