Jean Cooper Obituary

Jean Quick Cooper born February 5, 1931 went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her husband Charlie on Sunday, December 17th surrounded by her family. She was born in Frankford, West Virginia to Ovie Quick and Elsie Jeffries Quick. Jean moved to Newport News when she was 16 years old and graduated from Warwick High School. She began working as a young adult making ribbon and soon found her calling as a C & P phone operator, a career she enjoyed until retirement. Jean accepted the Lord on July 13, 1985 and loved witnessing to others, reading her bible, attending church services, singing gospel hymns, and Elvis.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles E. Cooper and her daughter Pamela Lovelace Franklin.

She is survived by her son Steven Cooper and wife Kelly, grandchildren Aaron Gundersen, Ryan Haney, Joshua Cooper, and Peyton Cooper as well as five great grandchildren Kaylei, MacKenna, Arianna, Avril and Aaron Jr. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the Riverside Hospice team, and her very special friends Jennifer, Sunny, Sandra, Valerie, Regina, and Virginia. The love you all had for our Mom was priceless to her.

A visitation will take place at Amory Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. on December 27th with a 3:00 P.M. graveside service following at Peninsula Memorial Park.

In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Riverside Hospice. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va.
