Jean Crane Obituary
Jean Marilyn Crane 86 of Decatur passed on Friday, February 6, 2026, at St Mary's Hospital.
A funeral service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church (1960 E. Johns Ave. Decatur, Illinois 62521) with Reverend Matthew Versemann officiating.
A visitation for family and friends will be an hour before at the church as well. Burial will be at Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Jean was born in February of 1939 in Lincoln, Illinois, daughter of George and Marie Ahrens. She graduated from Mt. Pulaski High School in 1957. Jean began her career at Decatur High School in 1959 until 1965. She later worked for Millikin Bank today known as Regions from 1976 until 1996.
Surviving are her two daughters and their husbands, Jamie (Donald) Taylor and Jodi (Brian) Aymer; granddaughter, Angela Marie Aymer; step-grandchildren, Angela McCay and Michelle Dawn Taylor; and step-great-grandson, Nicholas Lynn McCay.
Jean was preceded by her husband, Ronald Logan Crane; both her parents; and her sister, Lois.

Was so sorry to see this. I worked with Jean at the bank and she became my friend. I had lost track of her until recently and saw her at Imboden when I went to visit another friend. I´m so glad I got to see her a few times there and visit for awhile

Jamie and Jodi, I send my sympathy to you and your families. Your mother was a kind soul. We did not keep in touch well after we all got older and there were fewer family gatherings. I did speak with her when your father passed. We always talked about our children!
