Jean A. Dion

Jean Alfred Dion, 95, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of the late Mary Rita (Jackson) Dion for 65 years, entered into eternal rest peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on February 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Alphee and Emma (Roy) Dion. Jean lived in Amherst, MA for most of his childhood until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served his country as an aircraft mechanic post-World War II and in Guam during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked for many years as a machine assembler for Kaman Corporation and several other local aerospace companies before retiring.
Jean was a communicant of St. Mary Church and was a member of the folk group choir for many years. He loved music and would frequently sing, hum, and whistle. His other interests included reading, building puzzles, and anything having to do with railroads and aviation.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jean cherished time spent with his family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary, in 2021, as well as his siblings George Dion, Marie "Irene" Bowman, Lena Lagerholm, Mary Calnan, Rita Smith, and Edward Dion.
Jean is survived by his brother William Dion of Hadley, MA; his four children: Juliann (Dion) Wiezalis and her husband David of Enfield; Jeffrey Dion and his wife Stephanie; Jeannine Dion; and Douglas Dion, all of Windsor Locks; his cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Gregory, Joshua, Rebekah, and Shannon; and great-grandchildren Markaiya, Mark, Madison, Gabriella, Elias, Anastasia, Mackenzie, and Charlotte. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Jean's wishes, a private graveside service with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family.
