Jean Aileen (nee Reese) Fischer, 98, was born June 21,1927 in New Philadelphia, Ohio and died November 9, 2025, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. She was a longtime resident of
Avon, Ohio. She married Dr. Delbert L. Fischer on May 21, 1949.
Above all else, her family was most important to her. She fulfilled all her personal roles in the family; daughter and sister, cousin and aunt, wife and mother to eight, grandmother to fifteen and great grandmother to twenty-four.
Her interests were many. She pursued her nursing degree at Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing. Throughout her life, she joined a variety of hospital and community organizations while raising her family. After moving to Avon in 1967, she immersed herself in the history of her home, the family who built it and the town they established. She was very active in the Avon Historical Society and presented many programs to classrooms of schoolchildren about the history of Avon. She used her knowledge of research and genealogy to fill countless notebooks of the names of Avon families and their descendants.
Her love of sewing led to her love of quilting, and we are blessed to be wrapped in the warmth of the quilts that she made for all of us.
She was well loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by:
