Jean Jones Hogan, age 65, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away on Sunday November 23, 2025.
Born August 11, 1960 in Clinton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jean Jones.
She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia before graduating from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. A great writer and prolific reader, she initially worked as an editor for various publishing companies like her beloved mother, before becoming an operations manager for several corporate call centers.
Known as “Jeanie,” she was a devoted Christian who, when she saw an opening in someone’s heart, would lovingly encourage any such friend, family member or acquaintance to accept Christ as well. Her love for Christ guided all her actions and granted her an empathetic, lively, and caring spirit.
Jeanie was a dedicated wife who unwaveringly loved and supported her husband Billy Hogan for the past 36 years. She loved her two children fiercely and was consistently there for them in all ways — spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Jeanie also loved her extended family deeply and constantly kept her family and relatives in close contact. Her infectious sense of humor lifted the spirits of everyone around her.
Jeanie is survived by her husband William Hogan and her son Samuel Hogan, both of Simpsonville, SC and her daughter Clare Hogan of Burlington, VT. She is also survived by her four siblings, Page Allen (Ed) of Athens, GA, Brad Jones (Maria) of Richmond, VA, Frank Jones (Tammy) of Smith Lake, AL, and Ben Jones (Rachel) of Richmond, VA; and also by her double first cousins Greer Alley (Don), Allison Yeomans (Craig), and Kristin Smith (Barry) whom she loved like sisters. Jeanie is also survived by many other cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
Though in later years she was unable to physically attend church services as often as she desired, Jeanie regularly viewed Fellowship Greenville Church online and greatly valued the Bible study groups she participated in there.
Memorial services will be held at Fellowship Greenville Church at Highway 14 Greenville, SC on Thursday December 4 at 11:00 AM with visitation preceding at 10:00 AM and a burial service at 3:30 PM in Clinton, SC at Rosemont Cemetery, 807 Willard Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
