Jean Ann Johnson, 71, of Dana, IL, died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
Jean was born on August 1, 1952, in Rockford to John and Ruth Gotch Neal. She married Ronald E. Johnson on April 28, 1973 in Streator. He survives.
Surviving family also includes three children, Amy (Todd) Stimpert of Minonk, Mark (Dana) Johnson of Minonk, Kari Johnson of Toluca; one brother, John (Mindy) Neal of Rockford; grandchildren, Brittany, Kelsie and Carter Stimpert, Zach Johnson, Matt (Katie) Gorham, Michelle (Nate)Woods; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Isador; and an infant son, Mark Andrew.
Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She looked forward to every sporting event, play, and dance competition. Jean worked as a residential social caregiver. She cherished all the friendships she formed while helping people maintain their homes all around Minonk, and the surrounding communities.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, at the funeral home followed by burial at Dana Cemetery.
