Jean Leatherwood Obituary
She graduated from Ozark School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
She was actively involved in nursing her life, establishing the Villa Siesta Nursing Home early on, writing the manual for care that is used to this day, later on working for years in the emergency room, then at the Austin State School in Austin as a supervisor, and finally, at the State Hospital in Austin before she finally retired.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Leatherwood in 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie.
The family would like to thank Willie and Yolanda Vasquez, and also Vivien Stroup for the care and compassion they showed Jean in her final days.
Friends and Family are invited to coffee and cake and a quick meal of sandwiches at Gateway Baptist Church after the service before returning home.
A graveside service for Jean will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
