Jean Mock

Jean L. Mock of Newfane, NY, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at the age of 84. She is
reunited with her late husband, Philip Mock, who passed away in 2021. She was born the
daughter of the late Wilmer and Edna (Gray) Hill on November 5, 1939, in Cherry Tree,
Pennsylvania. She was also predeceased by her stepmother, Mary Hill, who raised Jean and her siblings after the passing of their mother at an early age.
Jean is survived by her children Janet (Daniel) Slack of Middleport, Donna Pratt of Lockport,
William Mock of Lindenhurst, NY, Steven Mock (and the late Luann Genet) of Newfane, and
Ronald (Erin Bradley) Mock of Barker. She was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Mock.
She leaves behind her grandchildren Jennifer (Matt) Powell, Laura Slack, Ashley (Lew) Wright,
Cheryl Pratt, Sean (Amanda) Pratt, William P.E. (Alyssa) Mock, Georgia Mock, Colton Mock
and Noah Bradley as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Jean was a homemaker and Mom to her six children and Grandma and Great-Grandma to many! As her children grew up, she worked at Lockport Senior Meadows and drove school bus and worked in the school cafeteria. She enjoyed playing card games and bingo, sitting in the sun and mowing the lawn. But, most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her many great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main Street, Newfane, on Monday, July 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to Spina Bifida of WNY, 3515 Drum Road, Middleport, NY 14105 or to the charity of one's choice.
