June 24, 1937 – October 13, 2025
Jean Ann Parsons, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2025, in Stayton, Oregon, at the age of 88. Jean was born on June 24, 1937, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to James Erle Beckette and Clara Beckette Stevens.
Jean spent her early years in Oregon, attending Canby High School and graduating with the Class of 1955. On November 17, 1956, she married the love of her life, Clarence “Andy” Parsons, in Reno, Nevada. Their 67-year marriage was a beautiful testament to devotion, friendship, and faith. Together, they built a rich life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
As a proud Navy wife, Jean supported Andy through his 20 years of military service, moving with him to various posts and making every house a warm and welcoming home. Over the years, she lived in Canby, Astoria, San Diego, Salem, Stayton, Mehama, and finally Sublimity, Oregon.
Jean worked for Pendleton Woolen Mills in Portland and later at Philips Industries in Stayton as a fabrication specialist. She was also a dedicated homemaker, known for her kindness, creativity, and tireless work ethic.
Her passions were many such as quilting, crafting, reading, square dancing, and traveling across the country with Andy during their retirement years. Together, they spent winters in Surprise, Arizona, at Happy Trails, enjoying the sunshine, good friends, and the simple joys of life.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Andy” Parsons; her parents, Clara and Erle Beckette; and several dear relatives and friends who went before her.
She is survived by her loving sons, Bob (Kathy) Parsons and Dave (Donna) Parsons, both of Stayton, Oregon; grandchildren Aaron (Cherie) Parsons of Aumsville, Shari (Patrick) Doherty of North Carolina, Thomas (Brooke) Parsons of Aumsville, and Jason (Ashlee) Parsons of Aumsville; and ten great-grandchildren, Ian, Abby, Owen, Peyton, Allyson, Brinley, Bailey, Talon, Amelia, and Easton who will carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.
Jean will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her generous heart, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Andy, the love of her life, in eternal peace.
