Jean Salzsieder, 79, of LaMoure, ND passed away December 13, 2022, in her home.
Jean Marie Bartle was born on August 5, 1943, in LaMoure, ND, the daughter of Kenneth O. and Ruth (Book) Bartle. She had one brother, Kenneth C. (Pete) Bartle. Jean grew up near Edgeley, ND and graduated with a BS degree from Valley City State College. She taught elementary school for several years and then stayed home to raise her family.
On June 4, 1967, she married William Salzsieder in Edgeley, ND. They lived and farmed west of LaMoure, where they raised their three daughters. Jean was very active in her church and her homemakers' group. Jean loved music and was an accomplished piano player and sang in the church choir. Bill and Jean celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary a few months before Bill's death.
She is survived by her three daughters, Amy (Tim) Ryan, Fargo, ND, Ellen Zimmerman, Berlin, ND and Mary Salzsieder, Dickinson, ND; and six grandchildren, Brianna Little, Connor Ryan, Rachelle Lewis, Miranda Ryan, Christian Zimmerman, and Cameron Zimmerman. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, LaMoure, ND. Jean's service will be live streamed on her obituary page. Burial will take place at Rosehill Cemetery near LaMoure in the spring.
