Jean Hogge Shackelford

We last heard from Jean around Christmas and she said she would call when she was feeling better. We had no idea she was ill. Have been trying to reach her, finally sadly getting disconnected telephone numbers. We loved Jean as a family member. We met through Bill and Mary Micklos many years ago. A beautiful "lady" and we won´t forget the times we came to visit from N.J., Just to take her to dinner. And how thrilled Jean was when we sent her flowers for her birthday. Jean, we will miss your presence, beautiful smile, and caring way. Very sorry Rhonda and family for your loss. Jean will always be remembered in our hearts. Joe and Joyce Buss Moorestown NJ. Jean was a powerhouse in the music education world in Hampton Roads and a champion of students who were gifted and hard workers. I had the privilege of working with Jean for many years through my work at The Governor´s School for the Arts and she was a fierce defender of Portsmouth students and a delightful lady. Rest in Peace, Jean, and enjoy those heavenly choirs.
