It is with heavy, yet joyful hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jean P. Short, who was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on November 7, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on April 17, 1936, Jean dedicated her life to Jesus, her family and her passions. She was an incredibly talented seamstress, often making clothes for children and whipping up beautiful window curtains for those special touches around the home. Jean retired from Brookside Industrial in McCordsville after 20+ years of working there. She also enjoyed crocheting, filling her family's lives with wonderful handmade creations.
Music was another love of Jean's life. She delighted in singing and playing the piano, sharing her talent with the community by performing at various churches alongside her husband in their early years together. Her spirit shone brightest when she was talking about Jesus and her loved ones. She was known as a #1 prayer warrior, always putting Christ and her family first. She was a member of Whetstone Christian Church.
Jean is survived by her children, Jeff "JT" Short, Timmy G. (Cheryl) Short and Tonia J. (Derek) Lane; and her grandchildren: Jeffery (Mariam) Short, Zeb (Tasha) Short, Jerimiah Short, Joshua (Jillian) Short, Garret (Lexi) Short, Justin Short, Jessica Short, Devin (Brittany) Lane, Trevor Lane, and Sarah (Joshua) Hamblin. She is also survived by her siblings: Donna Pell Mays, Delain (Jeannette) Pell, Windel (Connie) Pell, Dallas Pell, Lillian (Chuck) Gerweck, and Holbert (Diane) Pell.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, and her beloved husband.
