Jean Siple Obituary

Jean E. Siple, age 94, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

She was born on July 6, 1931 in Pine Creek Township (Jefferson County), Pennsylvania, to Daniel and Edith Uplinger. Jean was one of 10 children. On April 16, 1949, Jean was married to Royden Siple. They moved their family to Farmington in 1961 when Royden was transferred to Brockway Glass in Rosemount. Jean was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher when their children were young. In 2019, Jean knitted purple stoles (scarves) for the synod's assembly. Jean loved to knit and crochet, especially with her granddaughter Alissa. In recent years, Jean also knitted afghan blankets that she donated to Project Linus to help children in need.

Jean is survived by four children, Sharon (Harvey) Henry, Paul (Mary) Siple, Linda (Rick) Hawkins, and Pam Siple (Willy Jensen); 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by husband Royden, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Jim Brady, grandson Justin Trnka, and her four brothers and five sisters.

She will be greatly missed.

A special thank you to the staff at Cannon Rivers Senior Living for their wonderful care the past 9 months.

With honoring the wishes of our mom, a private service was held.
