NORWALK, IOWA
Jean H. Tegeler, 90, of Norwalk, Iowa, formerly of Dyersville, Iowa passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Services will be held at a later date.
Jean was born on October 8th, 1935, in Worthington, Iowa to Joseph and Mary (Heiring) Tegeler. After high school, Jean served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in California. He married Ann Lammers on July 1st, 1958, in Dyersville where they raised their four children. Jean was employed by the Ertl Company for over 25 years as a maintenance supervisor, and he worked other jobs throughout his life that allowed him to use his talent of repairing anything involving plumbing, electricity and woodworking.
In April of 2024, Jean and Ann moved to Norwalk, Iowa to be closer to family. Jean enjoyed building picture frames and shelving, playing cards, and spending time with family.
Survivors include a son, Tim (Sue) Tegeler of Norman, OK; daughters: Janet (Phil) Weber of Norwalk, Iowa and Sandi (Shannon) Falter of Buckeye, AZ; grandchildren: Olivia (Matheus) Dias, Hannah (Matthew) Padilla, Rachel (Zac) Ross and Morgan Weber; two great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Jean was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann; son, Dale Tegeler; grandson, Alexander Tegeler; and siblings: Marie (Joe) Becker, Margaret (Virgil) Engelken, and Paul (Norma) Tegeler.
