Jean Wadsworth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Amling - Schroeder Funeral Service - Coquille Chapel on Dec. 9, 2025.
Jean Marie Wadsworth was born on April 8, 1951, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, to John and Josephine Kuzar. On December 4, 2025, she passed away peacefully at her home in Coquille, Oregon, surrounded by her loving family.

In 1980, Jean moved to Oregon with her three children, beginning a new chapter filled with resilience and love. While working at the Bootery in Coquille in 1983, she met the man who would become her soulmate. The local garbage man, Jerry Wadsworth, captured her heart, and in 1990 they were married. With Jerry came his young son, and together they built a blended family full of warmth and devotion.

Jean dedicated 26 years to the Coquille School District, serving most notably as head cook at Coquille High School. She was cherished for her kindness and compassion, always ensuring that students in need were cared for. Beyond her school work, she managed bookkeeping for the family business, Wadsworth Garbage Disposal, and was an active member of the Coquille Church of Latter-Day Saints and the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

In 1995, Jean embraced her most treasured role-Grandma. She lovingly coached her first grandchild to say "Grandma," and when he finally did, it came out as "Mamoo." That name became a beloved family tradition, cherished by generations.

A cowgirl at heart, Jean adored her horse, Mo, and her circle of "horse friends." She spent countless hours riding and caring for Mo, who is now 30 years old. She also treasured camping trips at Remote Campground, where her "Remote friends" became like family. Jean and Jerry shared annual traditions at the Oregon Jamboree and traveled whenever possible, most recently enjoying a trip to Nashville. She faithfully visited her large Pennsylvania family every other year, taking two grandchildren with her each time to ensure everyone shared in the memories.

Jean lived life with joy and purpose. She had an extraordinary love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she cherished her friends and community. The outpouring of love shown to her is a true testament to the remarkable woman she was. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Kuzar, and her brother George "Buddy" Kuzar. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Karl Jerald "Jer" Wadsworth; her sons Kevin (Tami) Haagen and Jerald Wadsworth; her daughters Brenda (Darren) Thompson and Carrie (Tommy) Blanton; her grandchildren Ryan, Haley, Tyler, Ciana, Ashley, Gracie, Brooklynn, Jace, Jarett, and Howard; her great-grandchildren Shane, Maya, Riley, Aeson, Maci, Blakely, Layne, and little Waylon (on the way). She is also survived by her brothers Rick Kuzar, Mike (Judy) Kuzar, Denny (Lisa) Kuzar, William "Bill" (Millie) Kuzar, Timothy (Mary Anne) Kuzar, Danny (Chasity) Kuzar, and Matt (Melissa) Kuzar; her sister Josephine (David) Ciezobka; her brother-in-law Kent (Twila) Wadsworth; her sister-in-law Chris Wadsworth; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

P.S. I love you more.
