Jean Watkins was born on August 31, 1924, in
Arkansas City, Kansas and raised in Arizona. She was the daughter of Merle Newman and Pearl Iman Newman. She was particularly a "tag-along" daddy's girl, spending time with him hunting for the family.
She married the love of her life, Kenneth Watkins, in 1946 in
Tulsa, Oklahoma. Although she attended college, she used her talents at home by creating a wonderful home for her husband, and the three sons and three daughters they had together. Jean was a loving Christian woman who was devoted to her church. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. In her free time she enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, spending time with her family and going for car rides.
Jean passed away on May 14, 2023 at 98 years old. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family and friends, and her unwavering faith.
