Jean Marie (Thomsen) Watts passed away on December 19, 2025. She was born on January 8, 1941, to Carl and Ruth (Fred) Thomsen, both of whom predeceased her.
Jean was married to Robert Watts at St. Bernard’s Church in Keene, New Hampshire.
She graduated from Keene State College, earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education. Jean devoted many years to teaching, a profession that reflected her deep commitment to learning, service, and caring for others.
Jean was a volunteer at Maple Leaf Nursing Home and, on occasion, accompanied her husband Robert in his work as a Shrine clown, bringing joy and laughter to those they visited.
She is survived by her three children: Michelle Jenkins of Kingwood, Texas; Kim Maren Gromko of Greensboro, North Carolina; and Todd Watts of Manchester, New Hampshire.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Robert Adams of Colorado; Ann Adams of Oregon; Thomas and Elizabeth Gromko of Greensboro, North Carolina; and Ryan, Taylor, and Taryn Watts of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Caitlin Sweeney.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring or Summer of 2026 at St. Jude’s’s in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Details will be announced at a later date.
