Jean (Conrady) Weber
Jean (Conrady) Weber, 96, of Ellington, CT, beloved wife of Gilbert C. Weber, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.
Jean was born in Rockville, CT on June 28, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Jennie (Rieden) Conrady. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Gilbert C. Weber, and in 1957 they moved to Ellington, CT where she has resided since. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Celinda A. Weber, of Vernon, CT, and her son Donald A. Weber of Boston, MA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Mabel E. Conrady.
When she graduated from Rockville High School in 1946, she was then employed by the Vernon Board of Education as the secretary to the Superintendent of Schools. In 1956, she resigned in order to have a family. Then, in 1965, she was employed by the Ellington Board of Education as a secretary and bookkeeper for the next 29 years, working in the administration office, and later at the Ellington Middle School until her retirement in 1994.
Jean was a lifelong communicant of Blessed Sacrament – St. Bernard Church in Rockville, having served as a trustee, former organist, and as a member of the Financial Council, Outreach Committee, Prayer Shawl Committee, the Perpetual Care Committee, and numerous other committees throughout the years.
She had served as a volunteer at Rockville General Hospital, and was a member of the Rockville Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer at Hall Memorial Library.
Jean enjoyed music, was an avid reader, and spent time tending her flower and perennial gardens, plus her many house plants.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon, CT 06066. Services will resume at 10:00 a.m. the following day, Monday, February 2, 2026 with a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament- St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT 06066 with burial to follow immediately at Grove Hill Cemetery, 22 Cemetery Avenue, Vernon, CT 06066.
