Jean T. Zungola, 87, born on December 5, 1937, in New York City, passed away on April 13, 2025, at UMASS University, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, dedication, and a deep love for family and history.
Jean was the daughter of the late Eleanor K. (Hartmann) and Eugene F. Trainor. She had a remarkable career as a secretary in the music industry, dedicating many years to Warner Brothers in New York. Jean met her husband, Anthony, when they were just children, and their lifelong bond blossomed into marriage as they journeyed from New York to Massachusetts. Together, they built a loving family.
Jean took joy in traveling back to New York, Ireland and making many cherished memories with her family and extended family at the Cape. In her free time, she was an avid genealogist, immersing herself in the extensive history of her family. She was particularly active in the Mayflower Society, where her devotion to tracing her roots and understanding her heritage was a source of pride and fulfillment.
Jean is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Anthony Zungola, and their son, Marc Zungola, both residing in West Boylston. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and her sister, Anne Peterkin.
Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Jean's life with visiting on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 from 11:00am until 11:45am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston. A funeral Mass will begin at 12:00pm followed by burial in Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Road, Westminster.
