Russon Brothers Mortuary - BountifulJeanette lived a life defined by faith, resilience, and a deep desire to serve. Born in Evanston, Illinois, she later grew up in California. At about three years old, she joyfully became a big sister to Megan, and the two shared many adventures as their family settled in Pasadena, later moving to Pomona, and then to Colorado.
Jeanette loved school, church, and spending time with her family. Wanting to follow in her mother’s footsteps, she attended Ricks College now known as BYU–Idaho where she earned her associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development. She soon found work at Little People’s Landing Learning Center, where her natural love for children blessed many lives.
At eight years old, Jeanette faced tremendous trials, undergoing surgery and radiation for a brain tumor. The treatments brought lifelong challenges, but she met them with determination, courage, and grace. Even when life was difficult, Jeanette continued to give her all and help lift those around her.
She later married Zane Allen Chartrand, and they welcomed their beloved son, Ethan Zane, who remained the light of her life. Jeanette and Zane later divorced, and Jeanette and Ethan moved in with her parents.
As Jeanette’s health declined, she required full-time skilled nursing care. She was admitted to Marquis, located in Las Vegas, where she received increased medication, physical therapy, and loving care. Jeanette later became a grandmother to her cherished granddaughter, Nellie.
Through patience, endurance, and kindness, Jeanette truly magnified her gift of loving and serving Heavenly Father. As the hymn states, “Because I have been given much, I too must give,” Jeanette sought to give throughout her life and has now returned home to be with her Father, Mother, and Jesus.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Ethan (Sadie) Chartrand; her five-year-old granddaughter, Nellie; her sister, Megan (Spencer) Hall, and their children Thomas, Katie, and Elder Daniel Hall; her stepmother, Lucinda Petersen; and her stepsisters Brandy (Tim) Smith, Benja (Jonathon) Calley, and Buffy (Brian) Kraft, along with their loving children and families.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10:00–11:15 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. A graveside service will follow from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
