JEANETTE JUST
01/13/1936 - 11/29/2025
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Jeanette V. Just, a remarkable woman who brightened the lives of all who knew her. Born on January 13, 1936, to Arnold & E. Valentine (Olson) Schuler at Minneapolis General Hospital, Jeanette graced this world for 89 beautiful years before she peacefully departed on November 29, 2025, at Valley Care and Rehab in Barnesville under the care of HIA Hospice, leaving behind a legacy of service and community.
Jeanette's life was a tapestry woven with threads of generosity and kindness. Baptized on July 5, 1936, she grew up in rural Minnesota, nurturing her passion for learning before graduating from Granite Falls High School in 1953. Her journey continued as she attended Normal Training in Madison and for three fulfilling years, she shared her love of education with children in country school.
On August 10, 1957, Jeanette married her soulmate, Kenneth E. Just, in the warm embrace of Rock Valle Lutheran Church. They embarked on a 68-year journey filled with shared dreams and joyous memories. While Ken pursued his education and career, Jeanette gracefully juggled volunteer work and home, raising three beloved children and cherishing every moment at their various activities. Her heart overflowed with love for family, friends, and community - a love that knew no bounds.
In 1960, Jeanette and her family moved to the Red River Valley, residing in Breckenridge and Moorhead before settling in Barnesville in 1973. Her impact stretched far and wide; she served on the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Barnesville and volunteered with Eventide Nursing Home and Barnesville Care Center, always finding joy in helping others. Jeanette embodied the essence of community spirit, demonstrating through her actions that a life devoted to service is profoundly impactful.
An avid reader and Literary League member, enthusiastic bowler, and passionate golfer, Jeanette found joy in both leisure and service. She dedicated herself to St. John's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and actively contributed to Lutheran Women's Ministry League. Her spirit of volunteerism thrived as she delivered Meals on Wheels, called bingo at the Barnesville Care Center and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Barnesville Chamber of Commerce. She and Ken were life members of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 153, and VFW Post 4628, and Jeanette holds the honor of being a former president of VFW Post 4628 Auxiliary. She lent her hands and heart wherever they were needed.
Jeanette leaves behind her deeply devoted husband, Kenneth Just; her loving children: Allyson (Scott) Simonson, Kenley (Kathy) Just, and Ethan Just; grandchildren: Lindy Simonson, Brianna Just, Eric (Morgan) Simonson, Brittney (Jordan) Just, Dylan (Andrea) Just, Brooke (Eric) Depa, and Evan (Skylar) Just; her great-grandchildren, and countless friends who were touched by her goodness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
