Jeanette Ann Lavanier (nee Dehler) passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the age of 89.
Beloved mother of Suzanne (Harry Hellings) Lorch, Janice Kovach, Julie (Tom) Whitehead, and Michael (Sarah) Lavanier. Devoted grandmother of Stephanie, Megan, Kylie, Liz, Marisa, Lauren, Katie, Emily, Sydney, Kenzie, and Zachary, and great-grandmother of Jackson, Olivia, Aiden, and Hudson.
She is also survived by her sister, Rita (Pat) Brogan; sisters-in-law Joanne Dehler and Diane Dehler; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Paul, and Joe Dehler, and her sister, Rosemary (Jack) Beckman.
Jeanette was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She began her career at Procter & Gamble before starting her family, and later enjoyed a 25-year career at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. In her early retirement years, she helped her sister Rita start a home décor business.
Jeanette also developed a love for watercolor painting, creating birthday and celebration cards as well as many scenic paintings. She loved to travel—especially beach vacations with her extended family—and enjoyed visits to Northern Michigan, along with trips to Europe and Bali with dear friends.
Among Jeanette’s favorite activities were tennis, walking with friends, and attending her grandchildren’s many events and celebrations. She was an avid bridge and euchre player and was always ready for a game—especially Quiddler or dominoes. She also enjoyed brunch outings and attending plays.
Visitation will be held at St. Vivian Church, 7600 Winton Rd., Finneytown, on Friday, March 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.
