Jeanette Smith. Age 92 of Southgate.

Beloved wife of the late Ronald. Loving mother of Debra (James) Boutilier, Pat (Bob) Labadie, Lynn (the late Paul) Vandeneede and Kim (Marc) Nader. Dearest grandmother of 11. Great grandmother of 16. Dear sister of Geraldine Fisher-Goodwin.

Family Tribute ~

Jeanette was born in Detroit to Joseph and Josephine Jorissen, the younger sister of Geraldine. She graduated from Holy Redeemer High School.

Jeanette met her future husband Ronald at a dance. On May 7th, 1955 she married Ronald R. Smith at Holy Redeemer Church in Detroit. Ron and Jeanette lived in Wyandotte, then Riverview, where they raised four daughters - Debbie, Pat, Lynn, and Kim. They were founding members of St. Cyprian church in Riverview.

Jeanette enjoyed interior decorating, cross-stitching, flower gardening and golfing. She was always impeccably dressed with matching shoes, jewelry, and full makeup, including her signature lipstick - Persian Melon 585. After Jeanette was widowed in 1987, she moved to a house, then a condo in Southgate. She spent many years wintering in Florida with her sister Gerry, shopping at Bealls and visiting Deb and Jim. She liked Michael Buble, crossword puzzles, and traveling and shopping with her many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette enjoyed watching her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. She will be deeply missed.
