Jeanne Aveyard Obituary
ALBANY - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished and loved, Jeanne M. Filkins Aveyard on December 13, 2023.
She was born on January 4, 1939. Jeanne was always there for holidays, birthdays, graduations and every occasion that brought our family together. She was our light and brought joy and happiness to our family each and every day.
Jeanne worked for Rosen's Dept. Store in Albany for 20 years and then for Council 82 for 17 years, in between raising her children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Don Aveyard; her son, Michael R. Filkins; grandson, Earl J. Filkins Jr.; and her great-grandson, Jace V. Filkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister, Marie Ryan (Paul); her son, Earl J. Filkins Sr. (Kathy); her god daughter, Mary Kay Albert (Gary); her grandchildren: Michelle Filkins, Marie Filkins, Joshua, Kyle and Brandon Morreale and Christopher Glass; great-grandchildren; nieces and the many friends she met on her life's journey, especially her best friend Jo Jo, who is waiting for her in Heaven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, N.Y. 12205. All are invited to attend her service following at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y.
