Jeanne Caruthers Obituary

Age 79, of Oxford formerly of Kennett Square passed away on Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Ware Presbyterian Village. Jeanne was born in West Chester, PA to the late S. Raymond and Mary (Richardson) Sheppard. Her husband, John P. Caruthers passed away on January 9, 2000. She attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, was a member of Kennett Square Presbyterian Church where she served as church secretary for many years and volunteered at Encore Resale Shop in Hamorton, PA. She loved knitting, sewing and being around people. Jeanne is survived by her son, David J. Caruthers of Oxford; her daughter, Susan C. Jones; and a sister, Nancy Lou Griffith of Oxford. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of Jeanne�s life on Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at The Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square, 211 S. Broad St., Kennett Square, PA 19348. Interment will be private in Paradise, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square or Ware Presbyterian Village, 7 Locust St., Oxford, PA 19363.

David and Susan, my deepest sympathy to each of you on the death of your mother. I will always remember your parents as I grew up in the Presbyterian Church of Kennett. May she rest in peace.
