Jeanne Heyner Obituary

Jeanne Marie Heyner passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in Oakland Township, MI at the age of 91.

Jeanne Marie, known as Jany to her friends, was born in La Châtre, France in 1934. As a young woman, she worked at the Châteauroux-Déols Air Base Post Exchange, where she met her husband who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Jeanne Marie moved to Michigan with Conrad in 1960 where they were married and raised their family.

Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her greatest joy. In addition to her dedication to her family, she devoted her time to volunteer work and was an active member of the Alliance Française de Détroit, sharing her heritage and passion for French culture with her community.

A true adventurer at heart, she traveled the world and was an avid SCUBA diver and golfer. She embraced a life of warmth, joy, and celebration with her family and friends and enjoyed retirement by spending her summers in Michigan and winters in the warmth of Florida. Jeanne Marie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Jeanne Marie was the beloved wife of the late Conrad Heyner; loving mother of Christopher Heyner (Kelly), Diane Swanson (Todd), Lisa Plagens (Kevin), and Valerie Simancek (Dave); adored Mémé (grandmother) of Annika and Nicole Swanson, Connor and Natalie Plagens, and Reese Simancek; and dear sister of Odile Boyer, Liliane Philippe, the late Gérard Bonnin and the late Michel Bonnin. She was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends, Thursday, December 18, 2025, 4-7:30pm with a 7:00 pm Vigil service at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak 48073.

Funeral Mass, Friday, December 19, 2025, 10:00am at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Rd, Bloomfield Hills 48304. Visitation begins at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to the Alliance Française de Détroit / French Institute of Michigan.
