Jeanne Sardella Obituary

Jeanne W. Sardella
1930 - 2025
Feeding Hills
Jeanne W. (Zaman) Sardella, 95, of Feeding Hills, MA, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 while receiving her last rites surrounded by family and caregivers. Born and raised in the Boston area, Jeanne was the only child of Michael and Doris (Glavin) Zaman.
Jeanne graduated from Roslindale High School. She worked at Mass Bonding in Boston, where she met her true love, Richard A. "Dick" Sardella, who was attending Boston College. Married on June 4, 1955, living in Roslindale until 1958, later moved to Feeding Hills, where they raised their six children. Happily married for 43 years, Jeanne lost Dick in July 1998.
Jeanne leaves a legacy as being a wonderful wife, beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma, and an endearing friend to so many. Jeanne was a full-time homemaker and deeply loved her family time. As a kind and fun-loving soul, Jeanne's kitchen was always open because cooking and entertaining were part of her DNA.
Jeanne adored Frank Sinatra, Sergio Franchi, Irish music, Italian opera, and all the old-time movies. In addition, Jeanne loved to sing, tap dance, and do movie-star impersonations.
She relished her Tuesday morning bowling league, her circle of friends, and family summer vacations at Hampton Beach and Cape Cod.
Jeanne was a devout Catholic, a communicant, and volunteered at various churches in Agawam. Jeanne attended weekday and Sunday Mass faithfully until she was no longer able.
Jeanne is survived by her six children – Richard (Betsy) Sardella of Agawam, Nancy Dacey of CT, Susan (John) Gusic of GA, Peter (Elaine) Sardella of RI, Doreen (Jeff) Dower of WI, and Michael (Laura) Sardella of CA; son-in-law Robert Ted Dacey of CT; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and cousin J. Veronica LaRouche.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Dick, her parents Michael and Doris Zaman, and in-laws Salvatore and Dora Sardella; Aunt Adaline Murphy and cousin Doris LaRouche.
The family acknowledges her compassionate caregivers Laurie Picard, Laurie Beaudette, Donyael Galland, and Karen Kirby, as well as Baystate Hospice.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4 - 7PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main Street, Agawam. Funeral services will be Friday, September 5, 2025, beginning at 9:15 AM at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main Street, Agawam with burial to follow in Springfield Street Cemetery, Feeding Hills.

Earlier today

Dear Sardella Family
I am heart broken to hear of the loss of your Mom.
A few months ago I had some photos made up of our two Moms, from one of our outings. I had planned on visiting Jeanne and bringing them to her.
Jeanne was always a ray of sunshine, a breath of fresh air. She was so much fun to be around on our ventures.
I know she will be sorely missed by all of you but I also know she is in Dicks loving arms. She missed him so much.
Love
Susan (Russo) Sherman

Yesterday

Sue & family,
I am so saddened to hear of the loss of your mom. I remember her during our high school years and she was so sweet. May the memories that you made during your lifetime, somehow help you through this difficult time.
