Jeanne Todak Obituary

Jeanne A. Todak

Jeanne Ann (Kennedy) Todak, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend was surrounded by her family when she passed away on May 8, 2025. Jeanne was born in Toledo, on her father's birthday, February 19, 1932. She was the first child born to Ethel (Clark) and Frank J. Kennedy. Jeanne attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1950. At the University of Toledo, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Jeanne met her husband, Jim, while on a blind date. She married her high school sweetheart on June 6, 1953. They were happily married for 55 years until Jim's passing in 2008.

Prior to having children, Jeanne was employed for several years by Owens Illinois. She and Jim enjoyed travel throughout the United States and beyond. As a much-loved matriarch, Jeanne was totally devoted to her family. She was an excellent cook and treasured hosting holiday and other family gatherings. She had a special relationship with each of her children, grandchildren, and siblings, and was a trusted confidant to many.

In addition to her husband, James D. Todak, Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Kathleen Kennedy and Patricia Czerniakowski; brother, John F. Kennedy; and grandson, John Gregory Todak. Surviving Jeanne are her daughter, Patty (Mike) Quinn of Bloomfield Hills, MI; her sons, Jim (Debby) Todak of Carlsbad, CA; Mike (Pat) Todak of Perrysburg; and John (Tracy) Todak of Toledo; sister, Sr. Mary Sue Kennedy, O.P., of Adrian, MI; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Kennedy of Orlando, FL; and Mildred Best of Toledo. Nine grandchildren also survive Grandma Jeanne, Elizabeth (John) Pavlik, Stephen (Kathleen) Quinn, Patrick (Alexandra) Quinn, Natalie (Roy Sims) Todak, Andrea (Steffan) Miller, Rebecca (Brian) Schmidt, Sarah (Dustin Keeley) Todak, Rachel (Jacob) Westmeyer, and Ryan Todak. Jeanne's great-grandchildren include Jake, Paige, Claire, Emily, Mara, Olivia, Sloane, Van, Bella, Teddy, and Ryleigh.

Dear Patty, Jim, Mike and John.

I remember your Mom as always being warm and welcoming to all of the kids in our neighborhood as we went back and forth between our homes over the years. Cherish your memories. Your Mom was a gem.
